Adjusting Daily Requirements

« Help Index

When you reach a plateau in your training, fitness experts recommend that you adjust your daily calorie intake by 500 calories for a period of a week. If you see no result you then make a further adjustment. To do this manually is complicated and most people fail because they are unable to re-distribute their macronutrients accurately and even small mistakes can have a major negative impact on your progress.

With plan:one’s unique Dynamic Nutrition Technology™ you simply make the adjustment to your daily calorie requirement and all of the other calculations are carried out for you instantly.

plan:one uses scientifically based algorithms to calculate your daily nutritional requirements and the optimum ratio of each macronutrient (carbohydrate, protein and fat). It is possible to manually adjust these settings if, for example, you wish to follow a higher protein diet. This means that with plan:one you can follow any diet you choose, with the security of knowing that your plan includes precise quantities for your individual requirements.

Adjusting Your Calorie Requirement

You can alter your daily nutritional requirements for an existing plan or a new one. If you wish to alter an existing plan, select the plan from “Your plans” list and click “Customise”. Otherwise, create a new plan and when it is complete, select it from “Your plans” list and click “Customise”.

In Day 1 of your plan, click “Nutrition” at the bottom of the screen and a popup shows your “Daily nutritional requirements”. Click “Edit” and details of your requirements are displayed in an editable screen.

Uncheck the box with the legend “Calculate nutritional requirements automatically” and the fields become active.

You can adjust your calorie requirement off base by adding (+/-) the quantity you wish to adjust in the “Adjustment Field”. Your requirements will dynamically update with any changes made to your profile using plan:one’s unique Dynamic Nutrition Technology™.

Adjusting Your Macronutrient Values

Type in the changes you wish to make, making sure that the percentages of carbohydrate, protein and fat add up to 100%. A warning will display if you make an error. If you wish to apply the changes you have made to each day within the plan, check the box with the legend “Apply to all days in plan”, then click “Save”. If you wish to apply the changes you have made to one day only, click “Save”. You will return to “Daily Nutritional Requirements”.

The edited values will now appear under “Requirement” and the “Actual” nutrition and your plan will have adjusted to meet your new values as closely as possible. To the right of this are four nutrition indicators which signify if the plan is on target for overall calories and for each macronutrient (carbohydrate, protein and fat). If the nutrition indicator is green, you are on target. If the nutrition indicator is blue you are not on target.

Please note that if you have made significant changes, your plan may not be able to adjust fully to meet your new values and you must make manual adjustments to your plan.
